Cannot Edit, but Here Are My Intentions

Hello, friends.

Trigger Warning -- passing mention of both psychiatric and sexual abuse.

I'm just finding my way around, and found that I could not edit Emily's post. I could not figure out how to edit it, and my screens did not look exactly like hers. For example, I did not have the big plus sign in the bottom right. I had an orange oval in the top left that said "Add Post," I believe.

That said, I thought I'd put something up to practice noodling around with the back end of the site.

My intention is to work on my poem currently called, "The One with Thorns," about which I've recently gotten some very helpful feedback from a poetry professor friend of mine, so it may be a bit before it appears here.

I'm also working on a memoir. I'm working on fleshing out some of the threads I want to pull to make that happen. Probably means I'll be writing about being the object of psychiatric malpractice when I was eighteen. Big fun for all, especially since it involves some discussion of sexual abuse, both real and "recovered." So there will be trigger warnings. I am very committed to using them liberally.

I can't write the memoir pieces more than twice or three times a week, since they make my mood kind of wobbly, and I'm really trying to put guardrails up to keep my mood as stable as possible.

Poems are likely to be more random, but we'll see. For now, I'm putting the focus on the flower poem, which I will post here as soon as I take in my friend's comments.

So excited to be here!

    1. I am still learning this system myself, so sorry for the wrong information. I think we can't edit each other's post which make sense. These are great intentions though! Excited to have your with us.
